Trading cards are a great way to increase fan attendance at your sporting events. We have several clients who have started trading card programs that have been extremely successful. There are two basic card distribution plans that have worked for other programs. Read about them and decide which one will work best for you.

Card Distribution Plans

• Game Distribution
  Typically a team will have 15-20 high profile players who have trading cards available. The cards are distributed at select games - games that typically have lower fan attendance - to increase viewership. The cards can be distributed in groups of 5 in order to spread the card distribution over multiple games. We recommend keeping your number of available cards to about 10% of the seating capacity of the facility to make the cards more of a collectible item. A checklist card can be included in the first package to encourage people to collect all of the cards.

• Program Distribution
  Another way to increase your sporting profits is to package the cards in with programs to increase program sales. Collectibility is not so much a concern with program packaging simply because the fan is already getting something that is of value in the program, and adding trading cards as a bonus will give them the extra little something that they need to pay for a program instead of borrowing their neighbors.
